South Indian scrap prices ebb on rising Input

Owing to continuing tightness from stockiest and traders in spite of festive season, prices of ferrous scrap have been fallen continuously.

In general, demand for scrap fall on a head of festive holidays.  Subdued demand from consuming industries amid a week global trend has also made prices to fall on south India scrap market.

According to a trader, restrain industrial demand along with weakening global trend mainly kept pressure on scrap prices. Offers for ferrous scrap are likely to rebound after the festival. Prices are expected to go up if the power crisis comes to normal.

According to an industry absorber, Scrap yards throughout India stocked up on materials in their yard as continued scrap flow into yards. Moreover, mills currently were showing week interest in buying scraps.  This pushes the price down.

Copper prices fell by Rs 5/kg to Rs 405, Rs 396 and Rs 35 per Kg for copper No: 1, copper No: 2 and copper No: 3.

Weak demand also made prices shed for iron and HMS by Rs 1/kg to Rs 20 for Iron and Rs 21 for HMS per kg. Cast iron , M.S.Turning , M.S.Boring also fell Rs 2/kg to Rs 22, Rs 14 and 15 per kg.

The following are paper rates per kg: Note Books - 11.50, Text Books - 8, Box Craft - 4.7, Yellow Craft - 2, Tamil News Paper - 7.5, English News Paper - 9.50, CRD - 3.5, White record - 8, Brown - 3.
