Recently, National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) reported that they have planned to raise the production of iron and copper to 48 million tons in the upcoming year of 2014.

There is gradual fluctuation in iron ore production now and the production is about 38 million tons. It is estimated that this level would be increased to ten folds greater in the upcoming year.

NMDC has been actively pursuing the acquirement of raw materials assets with the motive of fulfilling their metal demands as well as to increase the production of iron ore in India.

Their expectation can be achieved only if the raw materials are properly supplied to NMDC’s steel mill in Chattisgarh. This plan is outlined to meet the increasing demands of iron ore in India as well as to provide prolong supply of raw materials for the forthcoming steel plants. It’s expected that through this plan, the increasing demands of iron ore in India will come to an end.

The reporter of NMDC stated that they’ve planned to start the production in Balidala region of Chhattisgarh with the annual production of more than 7 mtpa ore in the next year.
