New Delhi - Top government offices of the department of Atomic Energy, Prime Ministers Office, Home and Health ministries and other representatives  from various intelligence agencies are going to have a top level meeting to discuss Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to scan and dispose of junk materials carrying radioactive waste. This is caused due to the ignorance of various ministries for checking junk for radioactive materials. SOPs will be going to finalized on checking the imported junk at the time from different countries  before being sold off to scrap dealers. Due to this radioactive waste lot of persons are falling ill. As many as two dozen hospitals from across the country treating cancer patients using Cobalt pencils have informed the Health Ministry about mechanism used by them in disposing of machines. At present imported junks are screened for arms, ammunition and drugs only. By scanning and disposing radioactive materials from junk we can prevent the human life from death and protest our environment as well.
