Growing output -13pct in refined copper in the first three months in China

China has developed to be the world largest country for copper consumption

China is coming up like anything in copper consumption, processing and manufacture and even for copper primary products exports. Now China has developed to be the world largest country for copper consumption and it is reported for producing 1.05 million tons of refined copper in the first 3 months of 2010 up 12.8% from the same period of previous year by Interfax China. Meanwhile the output for refined copper shows unchanged in March from the previous month stood at 358,000 tonnes.

Moreover there is also a respective growth in production of refined lead, zinc, aluminum, nickel and alumina as well. China's refined lead, zinc and nickel production in January and March saw YoY increases up 12.4%, 37.1% and 24.8% respectively to 859,000 tonnes, 1.17 million tonnes and 47,424 tonnes. Meanwhile, primary aluminum production increased 48.3% YoY to 3.99 million tonnes during the 3 month period. The country's alumina output increased 52.7% YoY to 7.38 million tonnes in the same period. Copper concentrate output increased by 26.9% on an annual basis to 269,000 tonnes during the 3 month period and output for copper and aluminum product grew by 22.8% and 32.6% YoY respectively in the same period to 2.24 million tonnes and 4.3 million tonnes.
