COBRA No.2 COPPER WIRE NODULES

Cobra No.2 Copper Wire Nodules shall consist of No.2 unalloyed copper wire scrap nodules, chopped or shredded, minimum 97% copper. Maximum metal impurities not to exceed 0.50% aluminum and 1% each of other metals or insulation. Hydraulically compacted material subject to agreement between buyer and seller.

Cobra Copper Scrap consists of unalloyed copper wire nodules from a shredding or chopping operation. Its minimum Copper content is 97%. The maximum allowed metal impurities are 0.5% aluminum and 1% of any other metal or insulation.

Cobra vs. Clove

Cobra Copper Scrap can be identified by its slight dirty appearance. This copper grade is not as pure as Clove Copper Nodules (99% copper content); Cobra Copper Scrap has 97% copper content. Clove Copper Scrap is completely free of tin, lead, zinc, aluminum, iron, other metallic impurities, insulation, and other foreign contamination. In Cobra Copper Scrap, metal impurities such as Aluminum (0.5%) and any other metal (1%) or insulation are allowed. This is the only difference between Cobra and Clove Copper Wire Nodules.
