The COMEX (US Metal Exchange) - Copper prices rose on Friday and traded at $4.2800/lb. in the CME futures.

Copper price falls in September due to low Copper import from the top consumer china. China’s Copper imports in August dropped 41% year-on-year to their lowest since June 2019, as high prices and slower economic growth kept a lid on demand.

Arrivals of unwrought Copper and products into the world’s top Copper consumer were 394,017 tonnes last month, the General Administration of Customs said, down 7% from a month earlier and the fifth straight monthly decline.

The data showed Chinese Copper imports have declined in every month since October last year, except for March, after strong imports in the middle 2020 when China's economy rebounded strongly from the coronavirus pandemic. Factory activity grew at a slower pace in August versus July, although the construction sector, a key Copper user, accelerated at its fastest pace since March.

Copper price in September increases 1.22% from Thursday’s settlement price, touching $4.2800 per pound (Sept-10-21) on the COMEX market in New York.

The Linear Regression model predicts the Copper Scrap prices with an accuracy of over 98%. Our RIM research team still continues the research on Copper Scrap prices and we will update it here. Subscribe for RIM Scrap Price Access and Current Copper Scrap prices.
