ISRI Code - TEENS - SEGREGATED ALUMINUM BORINGS AND ALUMINUM TURNINGS

ISRI Code TEENS shall consist of Aluminum Borings and Aluminum Turnings of one specified alloy. Aluminum Borings and Aluminum Turnings should be free of oxidation, dirt, free iron, stainless steel, magnesium, oil, flammable liquids, moisture and other non-metallic items. Fines should not exceed 3% through a 20 mesh (U.S. standard) screen.

Aluminum Borings and Aluminum Turnings containing iron in excess of 10% and/or free magnesium or stainless steel or containing highly flammable cutting compounds are not accepted in the ISRI Code TEENS Aluminum Scrap category. To avoid dispute, material should be sold on basis of definite maximum zinc, tin and magnesium content.

Aluminum Borings and Aluminum Turnings are among the highest-paying grades of Aluminum Scrap. Aluminum Borings and Aluminum Turnings are extremely fine shavings with 98% to 99% Aluminum content that is typically leftover from the production of Aluminum.

ISRI Code TEENS Aluminum Scrap consists of Aluminum Borings and Aluminum Turnings that are clean, unmixed, uncorroded, and completely free of excessive oil and steel. To qualify for this grade ISRI Code TEENS, the Aluminum Turnings and Aluminum Borings must not contain other alloys of Aluminum and be free of grindings and babbitts.

Aluminum Borings and Aluminum Turnings must also be free of the following: thermo break, saw chips, paper, cardboard, and other foreign contamination; free of zinc corners, iron attachments, plastic, card board, foil, venetian blinds, castings, hair wire, screen wire, radiator shells, airplane sheet, bottle caps, dirt, and other non-metallic items.

ISRI Code TEENS and TELIC Aluminum Turnings are well-paid Aluminum Scrap grades, comprising nearly 98% to 99% Aluminum composition. ISRI Code TEENS Aluminum Turnings are composed of a single alloy, whereas ISRI Code TELIC Aluminum Turnings are comprised of two or more alloys. This was the only differential between ISRI Code TEENS and TELIC Aluminum Turnings.
